Emergency Service with a little Off-Roading too
When you think of Emergency Service with a little Off-Roading too, think J.P. Anderson Well & Pump LLC.
Sometimes I get one of those calls that just make me smile…and not because I profit off someones bad luck, but rather in getting to combine my two greatest enjoyments…Well Drilling and Mud Bogging!
I got the call and it went something like this…”My well has gone out and it is located some ways from the house (remote location due to septic and salt marsh)…My nephew has a tractor and he will get you back there.” Without hesitation, I said,”No need to bother him, we got four wheel drive”…Now most of you reading this have probably never been truly mud bogging for fun, but add a service trailer and it is pretty exciting…We need to have our tools close at hand, and our main service truck has four wheel drive, but it is so heavy, it would sink like a rock. It also has no mud tires on it. This is where the boss’ 1980 CJ5 John Deere Jeep comes into the picture. It has a mean motor, four wheel drive with positive traction lockers, mud tires, and a tow hitch for our single axle covered service trailer. This trailer has repair parts in sufficient quantity, and has sterilization equipment and testing equipment for the timely service for our clients. It makes service a breeze even when in a rough area such as this…This jeep doesn’t just have to get up a bunch of speed to get back there either, it actually idled without ever spinning the tires, which made less mess for the customer.
This custom CJ-5 Jeep is not just a show piece, it is a functional part of our company. Although it rarely is called into this type of severe duty case, it is usually used to give estimates or small diagnosis and repair, and then meet up with it’s big brother F350 service body and get towed back to the shop, since it has a tow bar on front (saves gas). We actually use this Jeep to pull out our 8000 pound forklift when it gets stuck in the mud around our shop…Our 4X4 Ford or our small skid steer can’t even do that! Once you see a Full Detroit Locker (positive traction) in action, you will never want a regular 4×4! How many people get to go Off Roading at work?
This jeep also gets used to tow both trucks and trailers to site and one person do the job…Ever see a gooseneck tow a jeep? It isn’t often we do it, but it is good to have the option.
The remnants of Hurricane Isaac couldn’t hold us back from helping our clients…and gave us bragging rights too! Give us a call and let us take care of your service needs!
