Private water well inspection

How to conduct a private water well inspection is something I have done for years.

For Real Estate transactions we try to make communications easy. We utilize Box.com to store pictures of the system, an inspection report generated on site, and an estimate for any repair, maintenance, or treatment system that may be needed. If a water sample is taken, we take it to a local lab and have printed results in 48 hours. If followup treatment of well system is needed we do everything we can to quickly expedite repairs or treatments. Once everything has been completed with the inspection, we send you a Box.com link where you may download all the files and we may share with as many emails as needed.

A few things to know…

There must be electricity on-site available to the water system. Bacteria Tests cannot be conducted using gasoline type test pumps or even generator driven electric pumps. The reason is that a water pump must maintain pressure at all times for natural bacteria not to take hold in the well system. When a dormant well is placed into service, it must be sterilized and then flushed until clean. Testing may take place ONLY after sterilizing agents have been flushed out and well has maintained steady pressure for 24 hours. This is very difficult to do when using a generator…we have tried before and had a high bacteria test failure rate.

For DHEC inspections for purposes of pulling a permit, see below.

Sometimes you just need a little water, but the “guvment” being who they are, wants some proof that an existing well actually works. I personally think the government is too big and needs to “go away” and leave people alone.

Our company understands that you don’t want to pay a fortune just to have a well certified. It takes me either one of two test pumps, and either an inverter or my bare hands to test your well. I also utilize an iPhone and iPad to send you the generated report and photos.

We charge a little more than a service call to do this, and I know I am the cheapest price available. I do it to help the private landowners, because they in turn recommend us to drill their neighbors well!
